Come See Comedy 101 LIVE in December!
New York’s roughest survival of the fittest live comedy show is coming back to The Stand in December!
It’s open mic meets a roast as a new crop of hopeful, but inexperienced open mic comics, takes the stage for the first time in front of a large audience hoping to get a few laughs, while a panel of brutal comedy veterans sit in judgment, ready to ring in with “advice.”
This month, we bring Comedy 101 back to the stage, but with a twist. We have a very special one time only line-up of mentors planned. We can’t tell you who will be judging our open mic comedians, but we can say this will be a very different edition of 101 and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to see how this one goes down.
Being torn apart by New York’s best is a rite of passage in comedy, and you can witness it live. New York stand up comics have a long standing tradition of brutal honesty behind the scenes. Comics rip each other mercilessly, delighting in each other’s bombs and ballbusting on the sidewalks and at comics tables all over the city. Comedy 101 is the only show that brings that experience on stage, and pits the most experienced sharpened comedians against the rookies. Is it a fair fight? Of course not, but it is hilarious.
Join hosts Ron and Gail Bennington who bring it all together, throwing an all new roster of rookies to the lions. No one is spared, no one is safe, not even the mentors themselves.
Previous events have been judged by New York City favorites Robert Kelly, Shuli, Rich Vos, Bonnie McFarlane, Dan Soder, Big Jay Oakerson, Kurt Metzger, Joe List, Luis J.
