College Sports Programs Want Your Kids

USC coach Lane Kiffen offered a scholarship to a young receiver in California last week. Like, real young. 8th grade. Not to be outdone, UCLA the next day offered a scholarship to another 8th grader, a quarterback out of Texas. And it’s not the first time, either. These are some of the kids have already made a mark on college sports programs and some of them are too young to shave. Here’s some of the young athletes who in the next 5, you will be gambling on and wearing their college jerseys.

His godfather who played at Louisville and Notre Dame got a video of the 13 year old cornerback at camp to Kentucky cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley and the offer was made. The deal can’t become official until 2018 when Jairus will be old enough to commit according to NCAA rules.

He won’t be officially allowed to sign his letter of intent for another 2 years, but David says USC is his dream school. His father made sure everyone was clear that this was his son’s dream and guaranteed that David won’t be another Todd Marinovich.

Back in 2005, Demetrius Walker was being called the next LeBron James. He was in 8th grade and already 6 foot 3 and weighing 175 pounds. Arizona State was ready to give him a full ride. The problem is that when Demetrius reached adulthood and arrived at college to play Pac-10 basketball, he was still 6 foot 3. The only growing he did after 8th grade was putting on 20 pounds. He ended up only starting one game for ASU and finally had to transfer out.
