Chris Farley was the first choice to play Shrek. It seems like it would have been a perfect fit for the big man and just listening to this can make you miss Farley even more.
Shrek went on to be a huge success earning $484.4 million and launching three sequels numerous specials and a ridiculous amount of promotions, tie ins and toys. It could have been a career changing opportunity for him and after he passed away in 1997 the role went to Saturday Night Live’s Mike Myers.
Spike TV has an upcoming documentary called “I Am Chris Farley” that got rave reviews when it played in Chicago, Chris’s hometown.
“I Am Chris Farley” premieres is in a limited theater run, and will premiere on SpikeTV on August 10th.
