China Is Trying Out AI News Anchors

China’s Xinhua news agency has revealed it’s first AI news anchor, with the voice and appearance based on a current anchor in the company. The AI version can read text, mimic facial expressions and demonstrate human mannerisms. The beings were created using facial recognition, facial modeling and speech synthesis software and are part of a plan to lower production costs. This is the smartest move by the robots yet, wait until the revolution starts you turn on the news and they’re saying “Don’t worry, it’s all good”.
