Cheryl Hines And Michael Chiklis Go “Cuckoo” In NBC Pilot
Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Cheryl Hines will co-star with Michael Chiklis in a new comedy pilot based on a British series. NBC has ordered a pilot for “Cuckoo” where Chiklis and Hines will star as the parents in a family comedy. The premise of the sitcom features their daughter returning from studying overseas in Thailand and now she’s married to an eccentric named Cuckoo. He’s a non-working free spirit type who has convinced their daughter played by Rachel DiPillo (Jane the Virgin, Mad Men) to drop out of law school. Things get even more complicated when the newlyweds move in with her parents.
The part of Cuckoo, which is described by the Hollywood Reporter as a “hippie wise man” will be played by Flula Borg who is a German DJ and YouTube star. He’ll also be seen later this year in the comedy movie from WWE Films, “Killing Hasselhoff” which co-stars Hulk Hogan, Ken Jeong, Justin Bieber, Jon Lovitz, Will Sasso, Howie Mandel, Jim Jefferies and David Hasselhoff.
