Chappelle Adds 9th JFL Show Plus Gala Lineups Announced for Montreal

Just a few weeks ago when Dave Chappelle added a seventh show to his Montreal Just For Laughs run, it seemed like a big deal, but the Chappelle hype in Montreal has only amped up more, as Just For Laughs announces they are adding a NINTH show. His shows sold out within minutes when he returned to Just For Laughs in 2013 after 13 years, and Chappelle was already the Just For Laughs ticket selling record holder. No official announcement has been made but it looks to us like he’s broken and protected his own record with plenty of room to spare. He’ll be performing at the Theater Maisonneuve. Dave will also be on hand in Montreal to be the first recipient of a brand new award. Just For Laughs is proud to present its first-ever Generation to Chappelle. “A modern icon, Chappelle has performed some of the most ground-breaking and influential stand-up shows of his era, and has influenced a whole new generation of comedy.

Just for Laughs has also released their full Gala lineup schedule. Here are some of the highlights:

The Gala Circus Awesomeus is in town featuring sword swallowing courtesy of Brett Loudermilk, puppet comedy with Sammy J and Randy, singing sad clown Puddles comes to Montreal with his Pity Party, comedy with Brad Williams, a trapeze artist, a magician, Beardyman, and the indominatable Bridget Everett, all hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

Patrick Stewart will be hosting a lineup of great comedy with Kyle Kinane, Jim Breuer, Russell Howard, Gina Yashere and special guest Sebastian Maniscalco and you will miss out.

Ellie Kemper will host Margaret Cho, Chris Hardwick, Reggie Watts, Michael Che, Pete Holmes and Debra DiGiovanni.

Alan Cumming, leads a lineup of seasoned stand-ups, including Rob Schneider, Joel Creasey, Orny Adams, Shaun Majumder, Sean Cullen, Dana Gould, Jen Kirkman and Todd Glass.

Wanda Sykes, has a lineup of phenomenal comics like Keith Robinson, Nate Bargatze, Alonzo Bodden, Harland Williams and Tom Ballard. The Wanda Sykes Gala promises to bring the best comedy has to offer.

And  Canada’s own comedy legend Norm Macdonald is coming home to host a Gala with a lineup of top notch stand-ups, like Rhys Darby, Natasha Leggero, Brent Morin, Omid Djalili, J.B. Smoove, Sam Simmons and more!
