The Carmichael Show Decides It’s Adult Enough to Use a Bad Word and It Makes the News
The Carmichael Show became known for being smart, funny and edgy right out of the gate and this season, they’re about to test the waters a bit further. Jerrod Carmichael has said that an upcoming episode of NBC’s The Carmichael Show will air the word “nigger” — unheard of on modern network television– about six times, according to Deadline.com which was inclined to agree with Carmichael, spelling out the word that most publications (including ours) generally abbreviate or asterisk out.
Calling “N-word” childish, Carmichael said, “we know what we’re talk about; we’re not speaking to children.”
The Carmichael Show returns on May 31 for a third season. Jerrod Carmichael’s recent stand up special, “8” was just released on HBO to raves from critics and fans.
