Bob Saget Hosting “Adult” Version of Americas Funniest Home Videos

For eight years Bob Saget hosted the runaway hit “America’s Funniest Home Videos” cementing his role as one of America’s favorite whole-family entertainers. It was a natural fit, Saget played Danny Tanner on Full House, and there wasn’t a family in America that wasn’t comfortable with him in their living room. But that was twenty years ago and a lot has changed and those of us who grew up knowing Danny Tanner, or Bob the host of AFV are all grown up and now we know that Saget isn’t squeaky clean, in fact he’s pretty blue on stage.

Now he’s coming back to the franchise with a new ABC show from the creators of AFV, but with more of an adult angle more suited to his sensibility and stage persona. Titled “Videos After Dark” the new show is not porn focused as the title and description might suggest.  We’re not entirely sure what it’s going to be.  It’s being built around Saget’s material, so it doesn’t sound like he’s hosting internet viral videos.  There will be video clips, but there isn’t a lot of info so far on what kind of video clips he’ll show and how they will connect to his material. “We’ve already had meetings with (ABC’s) censors already, showing them the clips we have and for the most part we’re getting their blessing,” said AFV EP Vin Di Bona. The network is looking for a nightclub feel with a studio audience.

Since leaving Full House and AFV, Saget has been busy, appearing in The Aristocrats, on Entourage, writing a New York Times Best Seller, multiple stand up specials, a few runs on Broadway (most recently in Hand to God), and a return to the sitcom with Netflix’s Fuller House.
