“Better Call Saul” Finds A Way To Bring Back Walter White
In the finale of “Breaking Bad”, the school teacher turned meth dealer, Walter White, didn’t survive. That’s doesn’t mean he won’t be around for the spin-off series “Better Call Saul”.
Executive producer Peter Gould told the New York Daily News that the new series starring Bob Odenkirk as lawyer and fixer Saul Goodman, will have a “timeline that’s flexible”. That means the show will feature scenes that move back and forth over several decades, including the era where Walter White cooked and sold crystal meth.
Gould is hoping that this will be an opportunity for Bryan Cranston who played Walter White on “Breaking Bad” to guest star on the new series or even join the cast. He does feel that even if Cranston doesn’t come on board the AMC series, “Better Call Saul” won’t be dependent on that – ““We want to make a show that stands on it own, is its own story and is a brand extension,” he said.
“Better Call Saul” is scheduled to premiere on AMC in early 2015.
