Baby Flies Are Decapitating Ants
This is a photo of one nature’s odder births. The ant-decapitating flies of the genus Pseudacteon lay their eggs in the head of a living ant. Then, after the maggot grows and the fly emerges, the ant’s head pops off along with it. This really makes those “being born in taxi cab” stories seem a lot less interesting now.
