Anthony Jeselnik Headlining Denver High Plains Comedy Festival

Save these dates! August 20th to 22nd are the dates you need to set aside to get your ass to Denver for the Third Annual High Plains Comedy Festival.  This is your no bullshit recommendation, that comedy is happening like crazy in Denver. Denver is not only pot friendly, but thanks to innovators like festival coordinators Andy Juett, and Adam Cayton-Holland, and festival partners like Sexpot Comedy, Denver is also incredibly comedy friendly. Denver has become the home away from home for some of the funniest people in the world.

Anthony Jeselnik has been announced as this years festival headliner, and it couldn’t happen in a more interesting year, because Jeselnik will be hosting NBC’s Last Comic Standing this summer.  So not only is he one of the biggest headlining comics in the country, by the time the festival roles around, he’ll be famous enough that even your mother and grandmother know his name. Jeselnik wraps the festival at the historic Paramount Theater but before that, you will be able to see one of the best curated lists in comedy festivals today. So many names have yet to be announced, but Kurt Braunohler, Jonah Ray, Matt Braunger, Guy Branum, Emily Heller, Beth Stelling, John Early, Kate Berlant, Jay Larson, Sean Patton, Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy and Andrew Orvedahl have already committed to attending, and you have to take our word that all of these names are on the list of the funniest young performers working today. If that was the complete performers list, we’d still be putting the High Plains Festival in our top 5 list of festivals to attend in the country, but festival promoters Adam Cayton Holland and Andy Juett say there’s more coming.

The High Plains Festival is not even three years old yet, and the venues are already getting bigger, the partners are getting bigger, so this is the year you don’t want to miss, while you can still see shows in venues like hi-dive, 3 Kings Tavern, Mutiny Information Café, and more  The partying at High Plains is infamous, and well, yeah, there’s legalized pot. It’s pretty much the perfect comedy vacation.

Passes are $125 and include access to all shows and a limited edition 2015 High Plains Comedy Festival T-Shirt. Get tickets by going to at www.highplainscomedyfestival.com. Individual show tickets will go on sale in the coming months, but go for the pass and get in on the early bird price.

Miller at The Gothic Theater in Englewood, CO and at CROM WEST in Denver 5/29. Additionaly, Sexpot Comedy will be taking it’s show out of Colorado very soon after successful Bridgetown Comedy Festival appearances with shows like Uncalled Four. Expect video content from Juett and Sexpot very soon as well.

Adam Cayton-Holland: The recently engaged Cayton-Holland is buried in the writer’s room at Those Who Can’t, his new TruTV show with his compatriots The Grawlix (ACH, Ben Roy and Andrew Orvedahl.) Cayton-Holland has been busy with appearances on the biggest shows around the country, @midnight on Comedy Central and will be co-directing the festival from Los Angeles while he gets ready for his wedding. Cayton-Holland and The Grawlix just came off a gigantic Bridgetown Comedy Festival show with Janeane Garafolo and just came back from a highly gawked at Turner Upfront presentation of Those Who Can’t in New York City.
