Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit held Section 3 of the federal Defense of Marriage Act to be unconstitutional. The First Circuit reached the same conclusion in May. Experts are saying that these two back-to-back rulings will lead to the case going to the Supreme Court.
