Algeria Hostage Situation Just Got Worse

Al Jazeera is reporting that a military raid was executed to rescue the hostages held at a gas field in Algeria. The helicopter raid caused the death of 15 kidnappers, including their leader, and 34 of the hostages. Seven of those held are Americans, their fate is unknown at this time. Some of the hostages have escaped, and there have been reports that the kidnappers were using some of the captives as human shields.
