Director and screenwriter Noah Baumbach, known for films such as The Squid and the Whale and While We’re Young, has a new star-studded film coming to Netflix in October. Called The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), the film will feature Dustin Hoffman, Adam Sandler, Emma Thompson, Adam Driver and more. An official selection at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the movie will tell the story of the Meyerowitz family and how they’ve dealt with life living in the often overwhelming shadow of their father, played by Hoffman. The film will hit Netflix and select theaters on October 13th, 2017.
Baumbach is a lauded indie filmmaker, known for productions such as Mistress America, Frances Ha and Margot at the Wedding. He’s also a frequent collaborator with beloved filmmaker Wes Anderson, having co-written films such as The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Fantastic Mr. Fox together. This won’t be Baumbach’s first time working with Stiller or Driver, either; the two actors were previously featured in one of Baumbach’s highest-grossing films to date, While We’re Young.
