A Look Inside A Google Data Center

Wired gained access to the interior of one of Google’s secretive data centers. The data centers are what make Google run as well as it does. They have facilities all over the world, warehouses filled with servers. There are nearly 50 thousand servers in the data center Wired visited in North Carolina.

Their precise technical infrastructure is what powers the Google website to index 20 billion web pages each day, handle 3 billion search queries and support the webspace of the 425 million Gmail users. Not to mention Youtube and all rest of their online presence. What you’re looking at is a giant chunk of the backbone of the internet.
