Forbes Interviews The Man Behind the Ebay for Illegal Drugs
Forbes was able to get in touch with one of the internet’s shadiest figures, The Dread Pirate Roberts, the man who moderates the Silk Road. The Silk Road is a website/forum located on the Tor network where people openly buy and sell drugs, among other illegal items. It’s a super encrypted network that uses Bitcoins as their currency.
The Silk Road is the OG in the drug Ebay game, with other sites popping up and advertising on the Tor network to try and get in on the business. Users and sellers have ratings, reviews and fans who buy and sell coke, heroine, ecstasy, crystal meth and anything else you can imagine. This was a big get for Forbes considering Roberts would only agree to speak to them through the Silk Road’s forum.
