Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: March 5, 2022
Dedicated to the brilliant and beautiful Ernie Tripper
SNL is live tonight with a totally new live episode. Oscar Isaac is hosting, and he has been incredibly busy. Not only has he been out promoting a bunch of Star Wars attractions for Disney, but he’s also the center of a brand new MCU series for Disney +. Moon Knight is a six episode mini series debuting later this month on the Disney + streaming network. MCU fans are frothing at the mouth for the debut. Those of us who aren’t quite as steeped in the super hero world know and love Oscar Isaac from his non-Star Wars career in great independent films like Inside Llewyn Davis, Drive, Ex Machina, and Scenes From a Marriage.
Tonight’s musical guests is Charli XCX, who you know from her chart topping collabs, “I Love It” and “Fancy” and her own smash hits like “Boom Clap” and “Vroom Vroom”. Her fifth album is coming out this month.
In a promo for tonight’s episode, Isaac teams up with Aidy Bryant to tease musical guest Charli XCS for her fabulous accent, and Aidy tries to mack on both of them, angling for a kissing scene.
What can we expect from the Saturday Night Live writers this week? Will they use any of Oscar’s characters? Dune’s Duke Leo Atreides perhaps? Maybe a Star Wars or space themed sketch? Will the show touch on developments in Ukraine or is it too soon? Or what about a Pacino impression? It’s all there, just look. We’re pretty sure Joe Biden’s State of the Union address will be addressed. Trump’s phone call with John Daly is bound to come up, at least on Weekend Update. We’re probably due for a Zuckerberg/Metaverse sketch, it feels like a Wordle parody could be in the cards, maybe an American Idol sketch taking down descendants of all great American vocalists, and where was Pete Davidson last week? Will he be laying low again this week or will the show address this Kanye situation, and the video that features a Pete-alike being buried alive. And somewhere in the show, maybe weekend update, we expect to hear the phrase “feather in your map.”
You can find out for yourselves tonight at 11:30pm ET on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
