Tracy Morgan sat down with Seth Meyers on Late Night Tuesday nigh. It’s Seth’s first night back from becoming a dad, and the two old friends and Saturday Night Live alums talked about the past, the present, and also about the future.

Morgan started things off with with the future, bringing an unusual gift for Seth Meyer’s new baby, and some advice.  The gift- a bowl of condoms.  The advice- don’t get anyone pregnant before you turn 30.

For the past, Morgan reminisced about being at Saturday Night Live when Meyers first came on board.  Morgan says he called Seth “The Big Rook” because he was a rookie, and advised him that if the NBC pages said his sketch was funny, don’t do it.  Seth remembered he would always say “don’t let pages jinx your shit.” What he meant was,  if the NBC pages said that sketch was going to kill it was officially jinxed, and would undoubtably bomb.

Talking present, Tracy said he’s on tour right now, and it’s going great.  Morgan said he gets a standing ovation every time he walks out on stage now, and said it makes him feel like a magical black dude, and gave three examples of “magical black dudes”– Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, and John Coffey from the Green Mile– in case you didn’t understand what he meant.

Staying in the present, Tracy also schooled America on some Batman v Superman information. First of all, he said, its fixed. Second, he speculated that Superman might black, because his dad’s name is Jor-el. And finally, he pointed out that unlike the first Batman movies, where Batman was angry because his father was killed, in this movie, Batman is angry because he lost Jennifer Garner.

Seth Meyers is right. Tracy Morgan has his finger on the pulse of culture.
