TV Competitors Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert Share Much More Than a Time Slot

While Jimmy Kimmel Live was on it’s usual Friday night re-run schedule, Kimmel went across the street to CBS, and across the country to sit in with his friend Stephen Colbert on CBS’s Late Night. Jimmy Kimmel didn’t fly all the way across America just to sit down with Colbert though, he’s in New York because he’s hosting a weeks worth of shows next week at BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Kimmel and Colbert share more than just the same job and the same time slot, they also share the same agent, James “Babydoll” Dixon, and it’s hard to tell which man loves him more. They love him so much, that Kimmel creates screen print art of him, and gives them as gifts to his friends, and he stays at Kimmel’s house when he’s out west.
Last night the Late Night audience learned all about the man they call “the Baby” for short. For starters, they learned that the Baby is very tan. he also smokes a lot, likes Versace cologne so much he may or may not run through about a bottle a week, he’s very wealthy, and uses phrases like “I’ve got too many cars when it snows.” Whether those facts are more fact or fiction we may never know, but the truth is, James Dixon is agent not only to Kimmel and Colbert, but also to Jon Stewart, Carson Daly, and Adam Carolla, making him the true king of late night.
Since Adam doesn’t sing, at least not on television, we couldn’t get ourselves a Kimmel and Colbert duet, so instead, the two held a cook-off, with their mutual agent serving as judge and jury.
None of this made the clips, but you can watch Kimmel and Colbert share their mutual love for each other, while blaming predecessors Jay Leno and David Letterman for creating the false belief that all late night hosts are natural mortal enemies.
