Is It Censorship? MPAA Hits “Bully” With an R

The Motion Picture Association of America has decided to put an R rating on “Bully” a documentary talking about bullying and the effects of bullying on young kids.  Their reason? Strong language.  Does this make sense? Is it time to demand that the MPAA re-examine their system?  Or is it reasonable to rate movies strictly based on what words are said?

Now, in what may be the first time in history, parents are protesting the MPAA decision for making their rating TOO restrictive. The Huffington Post reported that “The film’s supporters are upset that a film intended to educate audiences about an important issue will be barred from schools and won’t be accessible to those who are most affected by it — children under 17.”
