“Broke A$$!?” MTV Has A Game Show For You
If you’re in New York and someone offers you cash to cuddle with a stranger sleeping in Central Park, don’t panic. You may be on a game show. It’s “Broke A$$ Game Show” which premieres Thursday on MTV at 11pm et.
The competition is hosted by two South Jersey comedians, Derek Gaines and David Magidoff who are handing out cash money to anyone willing to play. While both being from Jersey, they didn’t meet until they were at auditions for the show in Los Angeles. Derek is a stand up comic while David comes from the world of improv comedy. According to South Jersey’s Courier-Post, they’ve referred to themselves as “the new Robin Hoods” and “this millennium’s Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor”. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, guys.
On “Broke A$$”, the two travel around New York City offering cash to unsuspecting people who are willing to participate in stunts, special trivia challenges and different street games. That keeps the show budget low, not needing a big spinning wheel or fancy set with flashing lights. This all takes place on location in the streets. It’s also the only game show where you can win just for using a port-o-let.
