New Russell Brand Comedy Special Premieres Thanksgiving Weekend on EPIX
Russell Brand isn’t just trying to save the world these days, he’s also doing stand up. Thanksgiving weekend, Russell Brand’s new comedy special, Messiah Complex will debuts as part of the Epix Thanksgiving Super-Sized Comedy Feast. Messiah Complex premiers Friday, November 28th at 10 pm et.
Taped live at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, Russell Brand talks about people’s need for heroes and icons to lead them with divine wisdom. Brand describes his special in historical context. “Messiah Complex on EPIX is a joyous media event like the moon landings or the OJ Simpson trial. Except it really happened and no one gets murdered.”
Russell Brand’s “Messiah Complex” is part of entire weekend of holiday comedy programming during Thanksgiving weekend on Epix.
The Epix Thanksgiving Super-Sized Comedy Feast also includes plenty of comedy movies on Thanksgiving Day, and kicks off at 6:45am on Thanksgiving Day. The lineup including “Airplane” and “The Addams Family” films, plus Louie C.K.’s “Hilarious” on Thanksgiving night at 11:15 pm et.
Black Friday features the world premiere of an exteneded cut of Anchorman 2: “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – The Super Sized Version” 10 pm et on Epix followed by “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa”.
On Thanksgiving Saturday, Epix will be showing the Farrelly Brothers’ “Kingpin” at 12:15 pm et and two great stand up specials, “Jim Jefferies: Fully Functional” at 9:30 pm et and Lewis Black’s “Old Yeller – Live at the Borgota” at 12:30 am et.
