FOX Remaking The Greatest American Hero
Believe it or not, FOX is looking at bringing the Greatest American Hero back to television.
Deadline reports that the network is giving a pilot commitment to a reboot of the action comedy. Executive producers for the new Greatest American Hero will be Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Lord and Miller brought another former TV series back to life by directing the movie version of “21 Jump Street”. They will produce along with Tawnia McKiernan who is the daughter of the show’s original creator Steven J. Cannell.
The Greatest American Hero is the story of a school teacher who finds a cape and costume that gives him super powers. Unfortunately, he loses the owner’s manual and has to figure out all the suit’s capabilities on his own.
No decision has been made on which of these versions of the Greatest American Hero theme song the new series will use.
