This week 60 Minutes ran a story on certain ranches in Texas that are taking in exotic animals– some of which are on the brink of extinction — and letting them be hunted occasionally. The hunting is permitted as a method of raising money that goes to the preservation of the animals, and it has been working. There are, in fact, more total animals as a result of the practice. But some animal lovers are appalled by the perverse obnoxious nature of a system that kills members of an endangered species in the name of it’s protection. Now we want to know what you think? Appalling? or Appealing?
