This is Trevor Noah’s First Election in America, and He’s Ready

It’s always fun when late night hosts late night and last night Seth Meyers hosted Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
This year, Trevor Noah had the incredible good (or bad depending on how you look at it) fortune to land one of the best jobs in comedy in an election year– the big desk of the Daily Show. Comedy and Late Night Talk in particular love an election year when easy topics are practically falling off the trees everywhere you look, and nobody does it better than The Daily show.
Last night Trevor talked with Seth about helming the biggest comedy/politics show in the country, during an election year. Noah said this is actually his first time living in the United States during an election year, and so far what’s surprised him most, was that the election has nothing to do with analysis. “I was like okay read up on this stuff and what is a caucus and the House of Representatives and the bill, and then its just people going Muslims go home!” So turns out he’s ready for the election after all. No cliff notes required.
He said his favorite candidate in the race has been Ben Carson, because unlike Trump, he has so many layers. “He’s like a man of mystery, he’s got a dangerous side that maybe didn’t actually happen which is even more dangerous,” he said. “And on top of everything he’s chill.”
