Sarah Silverman Political Talk Show Coming to Hulu

In Judaism “Tikkun Olam” literally means to repair the world, and it’s what Sarah Silverman and Hulu are gearing up for. The streamer acquired a topical weekly talk show from Funny Or Die hosted by Silverman to discuss current events in politics and their emotional aftershocks. The show’s working title is “I Love You, America” and it’s bent on “talking to un-like minded people” to try and make sense of the imbalanced schism across American politics.
It’s a premise similar to “Problematic”, the Internet-focused Moshe Kasher hosted talk show just picked up by Comedy Central. These what-else-can-we-do, but-talk-it-out shows are obviously a result of the Trump administration and as both sides grow more disenchanted, or whatever bizarre outcome happens, this could very likely be a new trend. Both shows state their intent to bring together audiences of varying, opposing viewpoints. This could be regarded as weepy liberals wanting a more formal platform to whine from by certain conservatives, but if it’s funny enough, and takes the time to genuinely listen to other perspectives, it could work. If producers get access to conservative leaders with audiences willing to put up with watching a Bernie Sanders supporter’s talk show and untapped audiences are reached, there could really be a dialogue.
The show has no formal air date, but will include ten episodes. Not only will Silverman serve as a producer, but so will Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Amy Zvi.
