Ralphie May Show Is Back On, In Fargo

Ralphie May has put Fargo back on his tour schedule. Last month, Ralphie announced he was postponing his April 12th performance in Fargo, North Dakota, because he was getting death threats over one of his jokes that angered Native Americans. “Postponed” is usually just a nicer way of saying canceled but it turns out this isn’t one of those times. Ralphie May will be returning to Fargo on Saturday December 10th.

The trouble started after a partial recording of an old Ralphie May bit went viral that included the phrase “fuck a bunch of Indians” more than just once. The clip was from 2005 and Ralphie says it was edited and skipped the setup which makes it clear it is just a joke and not a racial rant.

Ralphie didn’t just postpone the Fargo show but also shows in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Burnsville, Minn “out of respect for the Native American community and safety for all parties” and probably because of the death threats he received.

Since then May has apologized for his comments blaming his ignorance on the U.S. public school system and claims this has been a learning experience for him saying what he learned “from Native Americans will be in my next special. I hope to be a conduit for things that we are not taught.”

The most intriguing thing about this show will be seeing whether he addresses the issue, and includes new material based on what he says he learned- and if he does, will it be legitimately funny or just apologetic.

The new show will be part of his “White Trash Christmas Tour” and will honor tickets purchased for the April 12th show. Tickets for this mature audiences only show are now on sale at www.jadepresents.com.
