Ilana Glazer to Prove Stoner Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Slacker with “Time Traveling Bong”

Yesterday, all fans of lady comedy breathed a collective sigh of “thank my nature’s pocket, Broad City is coming back” when Comedy Central announced the gals would be back for seasons two AND three. The universe also gifted us magic we didn’t even know we needed.

“Time Traveling Bong” will center on two cousins, played by Ilana Glazer and Paul Downs, who discover a time traveling bong and ride high as they blaze through time. Their buzz is killed when the bong breaks and the cousins are forced to bounce around the space time continuum, learning to appreciate there’s no time like the present. The series is written and produced by Glazer and Downs and directed by Lucia Aniello.

Not only are executive producers Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment and Sam Reich brilliant for giving Glazer a chance to explore stonerville hilarity without the confines of “real life”, they were also smart enough to know this idea would likely peak quickly. Time Traveling Bong is a limited three-episode offering (think throwback special event mini-series) to be played on consecutive nights.

The mini-series debuts on Comedy Central after the Season two finale of Broad Girls on, you guessed it, April 20, 2016.
