LIVE STAND UP COMEDY FRIDAY 6/2

Show: Norm MacDonald

Venue: Caroline’s On Broadway
Location:
1626 Broadway NYC

Time: 7:3pm & 10pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

Norm Macdonald is best known for his 4 year stint on Saturday Night live where Chevy Chase noted he was the best anchor to ever grace the chair. He is a favorite guest on Late Night shows, having performed the final stand-up set ever on David Letterman. Mr. Letterman referred to Norm as the funniest man in the world. Conan O’Brien also lists Norm as his favorite guest.

After leaving SNL, Norm starred in 2 movies, one being the cult classic “Dirty Work” and also appears in many Adam Sandler films, including his first “Billy Madison”, where Norm played Adam’s best friend. Norm also starred in 3 television series. This year he became a judge on “Last Comic Standing” as well as portraying Colonel Sanders in an avant-garde Series of spots for KFC.

His tour-de force anti comedy roast of Bob Saget became an instant classic, as well as the five- minute “Moth Joke” on Conan which received a full one-minute laugh. These, though, are only experiments Norm tries out on TV appearances.

It is still Norm’s stand-up which is his pure gift. His 2011 Comedy Special “Me Doing Stand-up” was hailed by The Guardian as one of the best Stand-up Specials of all time and Comedy Central name him in their top 100 comedians of all time. Norm retires all material he has used on specials and guarantees that no two shows will ever be identical. If you know Norm Macdonald, but do not know his stand-up, you do not know him. He is a stand-up comedian who must be seen to be believed.

Show: Judah Friedlander

Venue: The Village Underground
Location:
130 W. 3rd Street NYC

Time: 8:30
Description of Show and Lineup:

The World Champion Judah Friedlander

On the comedy stage, Judah Friedlander is The World Champion. He is the best athlete in the world, greatest martial artist, the sexual desire of every woman, and a role model to children. Let’s face it, Judah is the greatest comedian in the world… And the most humble. Judah is an extra-dark blackbelt in karate.

Judah is known to comics & audiences as one of the funniest and most original stand-up comedians. Seeing Judah perform live is always a unique experience. He always has new jokes & he plays off the audience making up jokes on the spot. You will never see Judah do the same show twice. Because Judah is so awesome, he’s also one of the most copied comedians. But a copy is never as good as the original. And no one can top The World Champion.

Judah started doing stand-up in 1989 and has been doing it just about every night ever since. Even though Judah has made over 30 movies & appeared in hundreds of TV shows – stand-up comedy is Judah’s priority and specialty. He is not an actor who does stand-up on the side. He’s a stand-up comedian who acts on the side.

You can watch Judah as “Frank Rossitano” on the Emmy-winning “30 Rock” every night in syndication & on Comedy Central, as well as in new episodes every Thursday night on NBC.

Judah has made multiple hilarious appearances on many late night talk shows including: Letterman, Conan, Fallon & The Daily Show.

Judah was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2003 Independent Spirit Awards for his role in the Sundance-winning “American Splendor”. Some of his other movies include “Meet the Parents”, “Wet Hot American Summer”, “Feast”, “Zoolander”, and “The Wrestler”.

Judah’s hilarious instructional karate book “How To Beat Up Anybody” is based on his stand-up act, but with all brand new material. He sells & signs it after shows. Judah does meet & greets after every show. Judah does not charge for photos. So, you don’t have to ask Judah if it’s ok to take a photo – you can take one with him, and it’ll be the sexiest photo you’ve ever seen.

Next year Judah will be coming out with both a stand-up album and stand-up concert movie.

LIVE STAND UP COMEDY TUESDAY 6/6

Show: Tom Shillue: “Mean Dads For A Better America” Book Release Party & Comedy Show

Venue: Caroline’s On Broadway
Location:
1626 Broadway NYC

Time: 5:30pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

From the stand-up comedian and popular host on the Fox News Network, a nostalgic look back at his childhood and the simple American values that shaped his worldview—a portrait of growing up in 1970s America.

As a comedian and conservative thinker, whip-smart funny Tom Shillue grounds his ideas about our current culture and political climate in stories from his childhood. Growing up as one of five kids in a devout Irish Catholic family in a small town outside of Boston, Tom sincerely believes that the rough-and-tumble, rules-dominated world in which he came of age was a better America—a time and place that made him into the well-adjusted, happy, successful man he is today.

In Mean Dads for a Better America, Tom reminisces about his childhood, his family, and the traditional values he cherishes. He takes us back to a time when neighbors disciplined each other’s children without fear of being sued, when kids made it to the family table for dinner, when parents’ rules were gospel, when the occasional fistfight was considered a fair way to solve a problem, and when children were free to roam, make mistakes, and experience the first tastes of independence.

On the Fox News Network, Tom debates, debunks, and entertains with his hilarious approach to issues of the day. Here, he brings that talent and wisdom to the page, tackling the issues that confound many Americans, like our hypersensitive culture and overzealous parenting. As Tom celebrates the stability of family life and the sanity of days gone by, he encourages us to hold on to our sense of humor and look back at our own lives, as we work towards creating a better future for ourselves and our kids, all while making us laugh.
