Fran Drescher Talks About Being a Gay Icon on a New Gotham Comedy Live

In a nugget-sized look at an upcoming episode of “Gotham Comedy Live”, host Fran Drescher discusses her “Judy Garland” status gay icon-wise after her husband of more than two decades came out. The trailer, also called the “Gotham Comedy Minute”, taped in early October of 2016 with the episode set to air the first Thursday of March. Episodes of “Gotham Comedy Live” air on AXS TV and axs.tv with this sixth season’s hosts including David Hasselhoff, William Shatner in a stand-up debut and “SNL”
repertory player Pete Davidson.

AXS credits their weekly show as living up to their promise “to bring you more LIVE programming than anyone else” and sells each individual episode for $2 or season best of’s through their website for $4, an unconventional style in this Netflix-dominated era. AXS doesn’t only broadcast comedy, but focuses on that guarantee of “LIVE” content with shows following bands, nature, travel and game shows.

Episodes of “Gotham Comedy Live” air on AXS TV at 10/9 Central. Watch Drescher’s episode on Thursday, March 2nd.
