Fonda and Tomlin Are Still Fighting Sexist Workplace

Remember that classic 80s movie 9 to 5, that satirized sexism in the work place starring Dolly Parton, Dabney Coleman, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin? It might be time for a Hollywood update considering Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are still getting screwed in the work place. Despite being the main draw (and playing the title characters) in the new Netflix series Grace and Frankie, they were paid the same as supporting male cast Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen.

Tomlin responded to Fonda breaking the news during the press event for the show “The show is not ‘Sol and Robert’—it’s Grace and Frankie.” The show focuses on two women (Tomlin and Fonda) who are divorced by husbands who start a relationship. And while Sheen and Waterston are big names, Netflix has been selling the show as a vehicle to reunite the former co-stars and Hollywood friends….not to mention being a two time Oscar winning actress and notorious comedy genius.
