Bryant Holsenbeck – Paradise Lost & Recycled

Bryant Holsenbeck has been documenting our society’s waste for more than a decade. As an environmental artist and activist, she uses these materials to raise awareness of the impact of our culture on the natural world. Paradise Lost and Recycled features 22 bird and animal sculptures by Holsenbeck made from discarded objects. They set the stage for a 20-foot “waterfall” that she will create during her residency at the gallery. More than 20,000 plastic water bottles were collected over a four-month period from campus and community for this project.
