Amy Schumer Addresses Tampa Walk Out at Madison Square Garden Show

After two hundred onlookers walked out of Amy Schumer’s 10,000 seat arena Tampa show, or the equivalent of five people leaving a normal-sized comedy show, Amy Schumer responded live, reading an open letter sarcastically apologizing to the protestors at another gigantic venue while mid show- Madison Square Garden. By the way, guess who opened for Amy- performing stand up?– none other than Madonna. You can watch her closer promising free blowjobs to Hillary supporters below.)
Schumer’s full letter read, “Dearest Tampa: I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now. How could I think it was okay to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views? After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy-both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people who’ve been tricked into it. Tampa, I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have said that he was an orange, sexually assaulting, fake college starting, monster. Shouldn’t have said that. I will never again say that he is an orange, sexual assaulting, fake-college-starting monster. Honestly, never again. I look forward to putting this all behind us in a couple weeks when Hillary Clinton is our motherfucking President!” Then presumably, “Yours Truly, Amy”.
After a long day assisting in voter registration, Schumer was met with boos in Tampa Sunday night when she took a few minutes out of her show to lambaste Trump for being an “orange, sexual assaulting, fake-college-starting monster” and then invited a Trump supporter on stage to discuss politics. The discourse between a Clinton supporter and the easily villainized Trump supporters should be prescribed to everyone following the elections, but evidently the discussion made many uncomfortable.
One walker was quoted by the Tampa Bay Times as saying, “”I don’t want to hear that. We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics”, which is a fair point except that Schumer is also correct in saying that this is one of the biggest things going on in our country right now. Both audience member and comedienne have the same solution; let’s all hop three weeks forward to November 9th and prepare to get the last of the angst out at an ugly Thanksgiving.
