Who holds the title of greatest American rock band? Well, according to a 2005 USA Today poll, the title belongs to Pearl Jam, followed by Aerosmith and Van Halen. CNN however has their own list that includes Nirvana, Cheap Trick, The Beach Boys, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The debate for greatest American rock band could be argued for the next 10 decade, but we do know one thing – it definitely doesn’t belong to ‘Godsmack’.
