The Podcast You Absolutely Have To Listen To: Your Mom’s House

YMH2

“The Podcast You Absolutely Have To Listen To” is a new series where we talk about the  podcasts on the internet you should be checking out.  If you’re living on planet Earth, you already know about the most famous ones– like WTF with Marc Maron, The Adam Carolla Show, The Nerdist, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Comedy Bang Bang.  But there are literally thousands more and we’re combing through them for you, to let you know which ones you should check out first.

This week, “Your Mom’s House Podcast” with Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky.

Two Podcasts involve hilarious married couples. My Wife Hates Me with the brilliant Rich Vos and Bonnie McFarlane, is one of them. Your Mom’s House Podcast is the other podcast you absolutely need to listen to! Fans of Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky know that each week, they get two weekly comedy treats when Your Mom’s House is released every Wednesday and Friday. Overly juvenile in nature and overall hilarious, Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky and their in-studio guests bring you great topics that range from their daily digestive habits to calling their equally-funny parents out of the blue. High school humor has never been so gross and infectious.

Each episode is full of disgusting potty humor (literally, one popular segment is called Brown Talk) and hilarious sound clips from various well known and not so well-known video clips around the internet. From awkward porn clips to anybody with a funny speech pattern, nobody with a video clip online is safe.

For new listeners, it may feel as if you walked in on a giant inside joke, but pull those jeans up high and tight and be prepared to have some of the lines infamous in the realm of Mommies (the name of true YMH fans) invading your thoughts. After your first listen you will want to listen to the entire back catalogue of episodes. All 200+ of them because it’s addicting. I find myself waking up early on Wednesday and Friday mornings anxious to see what is going on with the main Mommies.

Your Mom’s House Podcast moves along quickly with an intro sound clip that  becomes the anchor for that days show. For instance, one show opened with a clip of a black gentleman in prison describing his tactics to rape other prisoners.  The rest of that episode including discussions of the psychology behind rape and the horrors of prison rape.  Doesn’t sound funny?  You’re just going to have to trust.  But watch out, YMH is not for the squeamish or easily offended.

Some of the best episodes are when special guests visit. The guests include Tom and Christina’s comedy friends, porn stars, people who have mastered the art of farting and so on;  the show is never short of talent. When guests are in studio you’ll hear favorite segments like “Would You Rather?” where the comedians and hosts decide what terrible misfortune in life they would rather put up with. (Would you rather have your fingers covered in Cheetos  crumbs for the rest of your life? or have the inability to taste food?)  Or the ever popular, “Tom or Black?”, where Tom Segura shows off his uncanny ability to sound like a black man.  You’ll also find out what “Fill Her Up and Seal Her Shut” means.

I can’t touch on every aspect of the show because there are too many. Once you begin listening religiously to Your Mom’s House you can’t help but love how personable this couple is– and how disgustingly in love they are. Tom and Christina have great chemistry and their senses of humor complement each other perfectly, and once you add in their parents– you have something truly unique.  Easily offensive, but incredibly funny. Remember to always wipe down and make sure to include Your Mom’s House Podcast in your weekly listening rotation!
