Tenacious D Festival Supreme Line Up Brings Kids in the Hall, Tim Minchin, Amy Poehler to LA Shrine

Yesterday the official line up for this years Tenacious D Festival Supreme was released and as expected, there are some huge names on board in the comedy category. The line up was official announced on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic 89.9FM by Tenacious D personally. The festival takes place at the Shrine Expo Hall and grounds on October 10, 2015.

Comedy Smashes Into Music at Full Speed at The Goddamn Comedy Jam

"If I polled you, 99% of this crowd would rather be rock stars than whatever the fuck they do now. Myself included, so this is a dream." That's Roastmaster General Jeff Ross, segueing from the stand-up part to the musical part of his set at April's The Goddamn Comedy Jam. GDCJ is a monthly show at the Lyric Theater in Hollywood that features comedians doing sets of regular material, then rocking out with house band Elemenopy, live band karaoke style.

Looks like Guillermo is moonlighting on the side by hosting his own show within a show. Vince Vaughn was the first guest on the debut episode of "The Guillermo Show" and wow what a get for Guillermo, because Vaughn premiered a clip and the trailer for his new comedy "Unfinished Business." His first question "Mr. Vaughn, how do you feel to be so tall" really set the tone for this exciting new show.

Out of the Tarpit: The Rebirth of the LA Comedy Club Scene

A few years ago, anyone paying attention to the stand-up scene in Los Angeles would have been within their rights to think that the clubs were aging dinosaurs, sinking slowly to their death in a tar pit they’d never be able to escape. The Big Three (The Comedy Store, the Improv and the Laugh Factory) were not having their better days and it seemed like everything they did to get unstuck just made them sink deeper and deeper. But today, business is booming, with the clubs drawing stronger audiences to watch a broader range of comedians and really reasserting their relevance in comedy and pop culture.
