Stanley Kubrick Phoned Albert Brooks

Criterion put together a list of Stanley Kubrick’s favorite movies and he said White Man Can’t Jump and Albert Brooks’s Modern Romance were some of his eclectic choices. He loved Modern Romance so much that he called Albert to tell him.

The call came at the right time for Brooks because he was depressed about the box office failure of the film. Too bad Stanley wasn’t alive for Looking For Comedy in a Muslim World, maybe Albert would be directing movies now instead of playing a talking fish.
