It’s official! There have been rumors for months but today SiriusXM officially announced that Emmy award-winning comedy Writing team, Eric and Justin Stangel will be joining SiriusXM. Congratulations to Justin, Eric and the entire team at OpieRadio for snagging the Emmy winning former head writing team and executive producers for “Late Show with David Letterman.”

The release did not specify what the Stangels will be doing on the Opie Radio channel, other than to say that they will be creative contributors to the “Opie and jim Norton” radio show, and they will also contribute to other SiriusXM shows. The Stangels were made head writers of the “Late Show” in 1998, and were part of a team that won two Primetime Emmy Awards, and over the years received numerous nominations for Emmy and Writers Guild of America awards.
