Pete Lee Performs Stand Up on the Tonight Show

Friday night, Pete Lee crushed on the Tonight Show, getting a standing ovation from the audience. Hand picked by Jimmy Fallon at an audition showcase at The Stand, Pete was confident going in, but he had nearly a perfect day on Friday, with the set going flawlessly, a standing ovation from the audience, love from Fallon, photos with the big man, a celebratory steak dinner, and a room full of comedy friends at The Stand to watch the set with him when it aired on Friday night.

.

When Pete arrived at The Stand after taping his set, still wearing his suit, he shared stories with friends and fans and looked happy enough to burst, and everyone was excited for him. At 12:30, everyone gathered around the upstairs television set to watch, and Pete got to enjoy watching himself along with Ari Shaffir, Jim Norton, Ron Bennington, Jim Florentine, Patrick Milligan, Paul Italia, Derek Gaines, Dante Nero, Emily Tarver and plenty of fans, who all gave him a huge ovation.

Wisconsin born Lee got his start in Minnesota, and got a really sweet write-up in hometown paper Citypages.

Congratulations Pete on a great set and a great night, and for what is most likely the world record for saying “dang” on the Tonight Show.
