Pete Davidson Rips Trump, Kanye, and Staten Island (again), on SNL’s Weekend Update

Pete Davidson appeared on Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live this week, in the character of Pete Davidson. In a segment that really didn’t have a lot of jokes, Davidson seemed to just really need to get some things off his chest about how he feels about Trump winning the election, and also to react to some of the reactions he got to his Staten Island rant a few weeks ago.

First, he addressed how he feels since Trump was elected. “I’m doing pretty bad, I’m doing really bad actually,” Davidson said. Even the legalization of weed in many states didn’t help cheer him up, because “Donald Trump being President is something I used to say when I was high, and laugh at how crazy it is. And I’m high right now, but it is not funny.”

Davidson is upset that one of the first things Donald did post-election was to hire a chief strategist that hates Jews, but the worst part of President Trump is that now Kanye is thinking of running for President. “We as a country need to agree that if it isn’t over a sick beat, we don’t want to ever listen to anything Kanye West has to say ever again.”

There is one upside to the election results, according to Pete. “He’ll probably reduce crime in the real estate business,” he said, “by no longer working in the real estate business.”

Addressing the complaints he received for ripping on Staten Island, he promises that he was just kidding when he said Hurricane Sandy should have finished the job, and says that he was planning to apologize for his comments until he saw a map of how the five boroughs voted, showing that every borough came in blue, except for one. “See that bid red open wound? That’s Staten Island, the herpes of boroughs.”

Davidson summed up asking people to take all their built up fear and sadness and anger, and use it at Thanksgiving. “Hey grandpa, can you take a second away from loving Hitler to pass the mashed potatoes?”
