Jones’ film credits include Chris Rock’s Top Five and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck. She is voicing an animated character in the studio feature Lunch, for Illumination Entertainment, opposite Matthew McConaughey and John C. Reilly.  In February, Jones joined Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock and Whoopi Goldberg in an epic 2016 Oscars sketch, reimagining an Oscars montage starring black actors.

Show: An Evening With Paul Virzi
Venue: New York Comedy Club
Location:
241 E. 24th Street NYC
Time: 9:15pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

Paul Virzi is a stand up comedian who grew up in the suburbs outside of New York City. He loves his family, cigars and having pointless sports arguments with his friends. He was first attracted to stand up comedy at a very young age. He was only nine years old when he witnessed Eddie Murphey’s “Raw”. Although he couldn’t understand all the jokes and probably should not have been listening to explicit language, he became instantly intrigued by the idea of speaking into a microphone and making a crowd of people happy. Every week you can hear him host his very popular podcast “The Virzi Effect”. Some of his credits include TV appearances on AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live”, The NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” and writing for the ESPN ESPY Awards. Paul has made numerous appearances at the very prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival In Montreal and was recently asked to perform at the SXSW Festival in Austin, TX. Paul never fails in keeping the laughs coming and making the audience feel comfortable with his hard hitting personal approach. He is fun to watch and has a stage presence that is second to none.

The HOPE Program lifts New Yorkers out of poverty through training, employment, and career advancement. The men and women we serve overcome significant challenges – communities of poverty and violence, low educational attainment, histories of substance abuse and more. Our graduates secure jobs in the fields of food service and prep, security, construction, maintenance, animal care, and more. They also secure jobs in environmental construction and maintenance, addressing two critical needs at once.
Who/where proceeds from event will benefit:
The HOPE Program consistently achieves results among the strongest in the field – most recently 75% job placement, 95% 90-day retention and 78% one-year retention – making lasting contributions to the sustainability of New York City communities. In fact, HOPE achieves top performance with regard to long-term job retention, based on results from a recent survey of workforce deveopment organizations nationwide.
But the true impact of our work is reflected in the words of our grads:
“When I got locked up for selling drugs, I decided I wanted a better life. At HOPE, everyone is positive and looking to the future. They help me stay on track.” – Ronald
“I work on an energy auditing team, where I make sure lighting systems are properly equipped with energy-saving technology. It’s great to be moved into my own apartment, saving money, and reflecting on my dream of managing my own construction company. My mom tells me how proud she is. That means everything.” – Takoya
Please visit our website if you’d like to learn more about how we lift New Yorkers out of poverty!
