Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

If you’re a Melissa McCarthy fan, this week is for you in late night. The star of such Paul Feig comedies as Ghostbusters, Spy and Bridesmaids is making the rounds all week in late night television. Melissa will be promoting her latest comedy movie directed by and co-written with her husband Ben Falcone, “Life of the Party.” Feeling like a cross between “First Wives Club” and Rodney Dangerfield’s “Back to School“, Melissa McCarthy plays a woman who is surprised to find her husband leaving her for a younger woman and then, she decides to reinvent herself by going back to school along with her college-age daughter. Watch for Melissa McCarthy appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, then the Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday and she wraps up the week by visiting the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday.

Looking at other highlights this week, on Tuesday, history is being made in late night talk comedy when Chris Gethard goes where no other late night show has gone before. Tuesday on The Chris Gethard Show, Chris’ guests will be Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata and they will be partaking in a game of “Pot Brownie Roulette.” What’s “Pot Brownie Roulette” you ask?? It involves a helicopter, crossing state lines, your phone calls and of course pot brownies. But perhaps the scariest part of this equation is that it all happens on LIVE TV! There will be no safety net on The Chris Gethard Show, Tuesday night, live at 11pm and only on truTV.

If you’re a comedy fan, you don’t want to miss Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday. Seth’s guest will be Michelle Wolf who will be making her first late night appearance since her controversial gig hosting the White House Correspondents’ Dinner where her take down of Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders became a hot trending topic all over social media and the lead topic of discussion on political talk shows on every broadcast and cable news channel.

This week, watch for some fantastic stand up comedy in late night with Seth Meyer’s hosting one of his favorite comics Joe Pera on Late Night on Tuesday, James Veitch returns to the stand up stage on Conan on Wednesday, Heather Pasternak is on Colbert which is also on Wednesday and finally Dov Davidoff will perform on the Tonight Show on Friday.

And Saturday Night Live has its penultimate live episode for Season 43 this weekend hosted by Amy Schumer who is constantly followed by controversy, so why should this coming Saturday night be any different!?
