The third annual Los Angeles Podcast Festival is coming and aspiring podcasts and podcast fans will have the chance to check many of their favorite podcasts in one place.

Officially Kickstarted in early March of 2012, the The Los Angeles Podcast Festival was birthed from the minds of Graham Elwood, Dave Anthony, Chris Mancini, and Andy Wood – now in the festival’s third year fans can expect more! More stand up, more special guests, and, of course, more podcasts. “There are no filters, no gatekeepers, and no rules,” boasts the official website. Host city Los Angeles connects podcasting talent, comedy clubs/theaters, and networks.

Here’s just a few of your favorite podcasters who will be making the scene:

  • Talking Shit! with Eddie Ifft,
  • Mohr Stories with Jay Mohr,
  • Girl on Guy with Aisha Taylor,
  • Marc Maron’s WTF

Plus Sam Tripoli, DeathSquad, Phil Hendrie, Dana Gould, Todd Glass, Jimmy Pardo, Kumail Nanjiani, Jay Larson and Ryan Sickler, Mike Schmidt, and too many more to name here. Special guests yet to be named are bound to find their way onto stage, too.

How will the third annual Las Angeles Podcast Festival come together for you? The festival officially opens September 26th inside of the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills hotel in different conference centers and ballrooms. Each hour, fans can choose between three or four different podcasts to see and hear, each podcast in a different room. September 28th will conclude the festival with a closing party from 9PM to midnight. A full access weekend pass will set you back about $100 but if you’re a huge podcasting fan, that’s got to be worth it.

The festival promotes podcasting as being all about  “eliminating the middle man and having the broadcaster talk directly to the audience.” The festival also gives attendees a chance to hang out and meet your favorite podcaster in the festival Lounge, and there will be parties, and some panels about podcasting hosted by experts from both sides of the curtain.” With the business side of neo-broadcasting starting to blossom, the festival’s early successes as loose evidence, expect other podcasting festivals begin to pop up on the East coast and in other major markets.   And if you can’t make it this year, of course, people around the world can listen in to the podcasts as they are released.

Check out the Los Angeles Podcast Festival’s official website for the full lineup and ticket options. Single day passes available, too, but if you’re going, just spring for the pass.
