If You Piss On A Lamppost, It Might Collapse

Urinating on a lamppost puts lives at risk, says the San Francisco government. A three-story tall lamppost in SF toppled this week, nearly crushing a driver in a nearby car. A city official said that the collapse was partially due to “dog or human urine on the base of the pole.” Because lampposts are sensitive to liquid, they encouraged both humans and dogs to either use bathrooms or “one of our fire hydrants,” which are sturdier. They can tell people to stop pissing on lampposts, but they can’t tell rain to only fall on the hydrants.
