Location:
702 Union Street Brooklyn, NY
Time: 8pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

Serial. Making a Murderer. People vs. OJ. There’s nothing hotter right now than true crime. And there’s nothing the industry*** loves more than cashing in on what’s popular. While Jo Firestone and Aparna Nancherla have neither committed nor solved any homicides as of now, they are totally open to it in the future if their schedules allow. In the meantime, they are both loyal devotees of the fake-but-based-on-true crime industry: Dick Wolf’s Law & Order: SVU**. So, for one fine evening, allow them, with the help of some special comedy guests, to pay tribute to the episodic criminal procedural with their own reimagining of the form. At the very least, prepare to walk away with more questions than answers, and blood on your hands. Whose blood? That’s for you to decide.
***The entertainment industry, not the murder industry, but good guess.
**Nothing but the worst, most heinous crimes for these two voyeur monsters.

Show: Chris Distefano

130 W. 3rd Street NYC
Time: 10pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

Described as a high energy comic, Chris Distefano acts out a variety of characters derived from his life, typically leaving you on the edge of your seat wondering “Who the hell is that he’s talking about?” Chris has worked at all of the top comedy clubs across New York City including but not limited to Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Caroline’s on Broadway, and the Laugh Lounge. Chris still lives in Brooklyn, NY with his Mom (punch line). Chris has a Bachelors degree in Psychology to impress his mom’s friends, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy to impress his Moms friend’s Moms. That kind of thinking got him on the SNY network as the host of the 2010 Fencing Masters at Hammerstein Ballroom. It also got him all the way to the Final 4 of the 2011 March Madness Comedy Competition at the world famous Caroline’s on Broadway. Chris also headlined at Caroline’s this month and recently opened for Gilbert Gottfried & Dustin Diamond. When he’s not making witty remarks (like the ones you’ve just read) or transforming into various personas on stage, you can find him stretching people’s hamstrings and getting yelled at to clean his room.

Most comics in this city came here from somewhere else to chase a dream or run from something. Either way, we’re all New Yorkers now. But where we’re from definitely shapes our style, our attitude and our life. We’re all a little bit different, but the same because we just wanna make people laugh. This monthly showcase picks comics from one particular town and lets them stretch their legs doing a longer set so we can soak up more of their hometown flavor. Hosted by Trey Galyon, who isn’t really from anywhere. He’s lived in Boston, Lexington, Orlando, Philly and Austin. He’s running from a lot of somethings but bringing some of the best talent in NYC to The Creek and Cave the fourth Tuesday of the month at 10pm! Oh, and it’s always free!

And no one can top The World Champion.  You can watch Judah as “Frank Rossitano” on the Emmy-winning “30 Rock” every night in syndication & on Comedy Central, as well as in new episodes every Thursday night on NBC.  Judah’s hilarious instructional karate book “How To Beat Up Anybody” is based on his stand-up act, but with all brand new material. He sells & signs it after shows. Judah does meet & greets after every show. Judah does not charge for photos. So, you don’t have to ask Judah if it’s ok to take a photo – you can take one with him, and it’ll be the sexiest photo you’ve ever seen.
