Gilbert Gottfried and Gilbert Director Neil Berkeley to Join Ron Bennington on Unmasked at Village Underground

Gilbert Gottfried is set to guest on SiriusXM’s critically acclaimed Unmasked series in New York City and joining him will be Neil Berkeley who directed the outstanding documentary about Gilbert that we’ve been raving about. Gilbert and Neil will be coming to New York City’s famed Village Underground to tape the hour with host Ron Bennington in front of a live audience. You can get tickets to be in the room for this tremendous event, and the best part is- they’re free. The episode will tape on Wednesday, November 1st at 6pm at the Village Underground in New York City’s West Village.

Gilbert of course, is a brilliant and beloved comedian, and you also know him as Iago in Aladdin and the former voice of the Aflac duck and of course you probably follow his amazing podcast Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.  Last Spring, we called the new  documentary the highlight of the Tribeca Film Festival for us, and since May, we’ve been waiting for everyone else to have the chance to see this extraordinary film. The film opens November 3rd but you can come hear Gilbert and his director talk about the beautiful, moving, funny and fascinating documentary before it hits theaters.

Director Neil Berkeley never got permission to make a documentary about Gottfried, he just kept showing up with a camera hoping Gilbert wouldn’t tell him to leave. Hear how he pulled that off, and how Gilbert felt about all of this by attending Unmasked.

The Unmasked series documents the careers of the very best comedy writers, directors, filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, satirists, political comedians, comedic musicians and of course, stand up comedians in the business. With over 150 episodes so far, Unmasked is a veritable archive of the greatest comedy of our time. Past Unmasked guests have included , Patrice O’Neal and over 100 more comedy greats.
