Jordan Carlos’ stand-up album, The Blackest, will be released via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Sirius XM on July 17 by Comedy Dynamics. The television special of the same name aired on Bounce TV to great ratings.
Carlos pokes fun at the oddities of pop-culture, race, and fatherhood while making fun of his own “nerd-like” qualities. His down-to-earth, light-hearted style of comedy is refreshing, hilarious, and endearing.
Currently a go-to writer/performer on Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore”, Carlos ironically got his big break playing Stephen Colbert’s black friend “Alan.” As luck should have it, he works in the same studio where he got his start almost 9 years earlier. In own his words, he’s gone nowhere. Jordan’s other credits include MTV2’s “Guy Code,” MTV’s “Girl Code,” as well as guest turns on Comedy Central’s “@Midnight,” HBO’s “Girls” and Comedy Central’s “Broad City.” You can also find him on the big screen this fall opposite Naomi Watts in The Weinstein Company’s “Three Generations.”
As if that weren’t enough, Carlos has had a busy summer. He just landed a lead in a pilot opposite Alia Shawkat (“Arrested Development”) in “Search Party.” Produced by Michael Showalter and created by SXSW Jury Award Winners Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers (“Ft. Tilden”) for Jax Media (“Inside Amy Schumer,” “Broad City,” “Louie”), “Search Party” revolves around a group of hipster friends who go searching for a missing classmate.
