“Community”, the show that cannot be killed, has found a new life just when it looked like it was all over for the sitcom. Yahoo! has stepped in to save the show for its fans. “Community” will be getting revived for a sixth season, set to premiere this fall on Yahoo Screen. The show had reportedly come close to deals with Hulu and Netflix.
Show creator Dan Harmon talked about the move to Yahoo! He said – “I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, BangBus!”
“Community” star Joel McHale had plenty of “thank yous” to make and mentioned what he’s looking forward to about the move to Yahoo! – “‘The reports of our cancellation have been greatly exaggerated, #SixSeasonsAndaMovie is real. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It’s the internet. We can swear now.”
“Community Season 6” will be available in a slightly different format, with the 13 episodes being released weekly this fall.
