Cameron Esposito, called ‘the future of comedy” by Jay Leno, announced today that her new comedy album “Same Sex Symbol” will be released on October 7. The album was recorded live in Portland and covers such topics as growing up VERY Catholic, visiting a strip club, gay marriage and her Chicago roots. The album will be available at KILLROCKSTARS.

PASTE has the exclusive video premier of the album track “Woman Who Doesn’t Sleep With Men.” And you can download it right here.

Cameron Esposito is definitely one of the rising stars in comedy today. We talked with her back in May to discuss her career and the current state of women in the business. She talked about her decision to leave Chicago to further her career, and the first woman comedian she saw live and it was amazing (it was Margaret Cho). Read the full interview here.

Esposito is a REALLY busy comic, touring and doing stand-up from her base in Los Angeles. She’s been named the Comic to Watch by LA Weekly, Time Out LA and Cosmopolitan Magazines. She does a hit live pod cast called “Put Your Hands Together” out of the UCB LA Theater every Tuesday, which was named one of the Best Comedy Podcasts by Rolling Stone. She also created and hosts Wham Bam Pow, a sci-fiction pod cast AND she appears regularly on TV, on shows like Craig Ferguson, Chelsea Lately, Maron, Last Call with Carson Daly, TakePart Live and Adventure Time. She is a regular guest on podcasts “Comedy Bang! Bang!” and “How Did This Get Made?”. In her spare time, she writes a biweekly column “Who In The World is Carmen Esposito”, which can be read at The AV Club.

Tour dates in support of the album have been announced, starting October 7 in LA at UCB LA. More dates are forthcoming and can be found on her website.

Here’s a clip from the upcoming album, released today on Paste.com.
