A new Illinois law is adding cigarettes to the list of items considered as litter. That means that the cigarette that you flick out the window will amount to a Class B misdemeanor the first time you’re caught and a Class A misdemeanor the second time. If you’re caught tossing a cigarette from your car a third time, it would amount to a Class 4 felony. After the 4th time, they put it out on your forehead.
